Folks Are Asking: Is CBD Oil Legal in Wyoming?

In 2018, the federal government updated the Farm Bill, as it does every four years or so. Part of the new Farm Bill was the Hemp Farming Act, allowing farmers to cultivate hemp for the first time in decades. It also removed CBD, a non-intoxicating cannabinoid, from the controlled substances list, effectively allowing its use throughout the country.

When the Hemp Farming Act became law, it understandably confused Wyoming residents. Which rules were people supposed to follow now?

Things became more obvious just last year. CBD oil in Wyoming became more accessible when Governor Mark Gordon signed a new bill in March 2019. The bill legalized hemp cultivation but also brought the Equality State in line with federal guidelines on CBD. In other words, it made Wyoming law on CBD akin to what’s written in the Farm Bill.

This means that hemp-derived CBD containing less than 0.3% THC is now widely available. The situation with selling Wyoming-made CBD across state lines is more complicated, as this falls to the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).

Are There CBD Laws in Wyoming?

CBD Laws in Wyoming

The deal with CBD in Wyoming is related directly to industrial hemp. The rule that allowed hemp cultivation was the one that made CBD available for use, after all. Up until March 2019, there was some consternation surrounding the cannabidiol market. Like many states, Wyoming didn’t specifically say much about CBD one way or the other.

Now, the legalization of hemp growth means there is a little clarity in what was once a murky affair. In essence, you should find it relatively easy to purchase hemp-derived CBD products that contain a maximum of 0.3% THC. This is the maximum percentage of THC associated with the most recent version of the Farm Bill.

CBD in Wyoming: Understanding Different Types of CBD Products

One of the great things about the CBD industry is the sheer level of variety on show. A prime example is the number of CBD edible products now on the market. At PureKana, we offer CBD gummies that provide you with a fruity twist. If you look hard enough online, you may also find CBD chocolate, although most people believe such a product is expensive at present. For the record, our gummies have 25mg of CBD apiece, and you get 20 in each container, which means 500mg in total.

While many of our users enjoy the process of eating gummies or placing drops beneath their tongue, there are occasions where a different form of consumption could prove useful. A prime example is the growth of the CBD topicals market. With a CBD cream, you can rub the cannabinoids into your skin. They absorb through your body’s largest organ and eventually make their way to the bloodstream. It is a good option if you are looking to target a specific area of your body, such as your knee, shoulder, or lower back.

We are very proud of our CBD vape pen range. Our disposable pens contain 200mg of prime CBD derived from hemp. They are affordable, functional, taste delicious, and are an excellent way for newcomers to the vaping scene to get acquainted with the process of vaporization. We offer Blue Raz, Watermelon Mint, Mint, and Blood Orange flavors. Those who elect to vape CBD claim that it provides a higher rate of bioavailability than other methods. Try our vape pens for yourself, and let us know what you think.

If you have tried CBD in the past, chances are, you picked CBD oral drops as your first option. At PureKana, we ensure that the oil comes from CBD-rich hemp plants. We also use a clean extraction method to make sure there are no nasty chemicals, toxins, or heavy metals leftover in our products. You can choose between a small, introductory 300mg bottle, or go large with our huge 5,000mg option. To use, place the requisite number of drops beneath the tongue, hold for up to 90 seconds, and swallow.

Industrial Hemp in Wyoming

The Wyoming Department of Agriculture (WDA) oversees the hemp cultivation program. As per the Farm Bill, the USDA had to approve the plans of any state before people can begin growing hemp. The UDSA recently responded and announced that it had accepted Wyoming’s hemp growing proposal. As in other states, farmers will have to apply to grow hemp. There will be an application fee and a license fee, but the WDA has not yet disclosed how much this will be.

Importantly, all hemp is tested at least annually. The WDA has assigned a laboratory, the WDA Analytical Services Laboratory, to carry out the tests. Cultivators will also have to pay a fee to the lab for testing. If your plants test over 0.3% THC, then they must be destroyed appropriately. The WDA drafted emergency rules, which were approved by Governor Gordon. Beginning in late February 2020, these rules are in effect for 120 days. The final rule will occur once this transition period is completed.

This is excellent news for the CBD industry, which is likely to see a positive trend, and Wyoming residents will find it easier to purchase high-quality, local CBD. That being said, it’s fashionable to order online. So, which is better?

If you want to purchase CBD in Wyoming, then you have a couple of choices. Now that CBD is widely accepted in the state, many stores are selling it. Certain localities will probably see CBD stores opening up in the future, allowing residents to buy CBD from their local store. However, by far, the easiest way to get your hands on high-quality CBD is to go online. CBD oil in Wyoming could take a while to reach the same variety as what you can find online. For this reason, consumers enjoy the convenience of ordering a variety of CBD products right to their door. Online, you get to browse an extensive range of unique products and take the time to search for something that suits you.

If you decide to order online, then there are a few things to keep in mind. First and foremost, make sure you don’t get scammed by a dealer selling low-grade CBD oil. Check out the lab reports offered up by a brand before ordering. These reports should tell you the cannabinoid content, confirming that the oil is legitimate. Furthermore, they will tell you the THC content.

If you wish to remain cautious, you should order Farm Bill compliant CBD. Make sure the THC content is below 0.3% and that the product was derived from hemp.

There are lots of great brands out there, but while you’re here, why not check out PureKana? Our top of the range products is all Farm Bill compliant and produced from hemp grown in the USA. We have a vast range to choose from, too, with everything from CBD tinctures to CBD toothpicks! While many of our customers like to continue using CBD oil, others have elected to experiment with edibles, vape pens, and capsules, just to see which consumption method they prefer. We also offer CBD bath bombs, which allow you to absorb cannabidiol while relaxing in your bathtub!

Final Thoughts About CBD Oil in Wyoming

Every state is different when it comes to CBD. Some embrace the cannabinoid, allowing users to consume CBD in tincture, edible, and topical forms. Others allow CBD in select circumstances but err on the side of caution by prohibiting the use of CBD edibles, for example.

Compared to some other states, Wyoming’s CBD laws are not very complicated. There was a brief period of confusion upon the introduction of the Farm Bill. Thankfully, Wyoming was reasonably quick to act. In 2019, things were made more transparent with the introduction of a hemp cultivation program.

At the time of writing, Wyoming residents can freely purchase CBD that is hemp-derived and contains less than 0.3% THC. When the hemp program is at full speed, more CBD stores will probably open in the state. For now, it’s possible to purchase CBD online in Wyoming, as long as it’s Farm Bill compliant.

The non-intoxicating compound is growing in popularity, and the number of users in the United States alone is in the millions. At present, research into its effects is ongoing, but there is a lot of positive experimentation. If you decide to choose CBD, adopt a ‘go low and slow’ approach by using a little at first to see how your body reacts.
