Ogadinma “Dr. Oga” Obie Medical Doctor (MD), FAAEMOgadinma “Dr. Oga” Obie, MD, FAAEM is a native Houstonian and a U.S. board-certified emergency physician. She graduated cum laude from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Biochemical & Biophysical Sciences. In 2009, Dr. Oga graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) with honors in burns research. During medical school, Dr. Oga began studying herbalism, and over the last two decades, she has traveled throughout the Americas, parts of Africa and Southeastern Asia, exploring various forms of medicine. Her studies of herbal medicine have inspired her eclectic medical practice. Today, Dr. Oga practices as an ER physician, holistic physician, practical cannabinologist (a scientist who studies and prescribes the cannabis plant), and an endocannabinoid specialist (a doctor who studies and heals the endocannabinoid system). Dr. Oga is co-founding board member and President of the Association for Cannabis Health Equity & Medicine (ACHEM, pronounced ay-kem) – a 501c(6) organization for cannabis healthcare practitioners. She is also founder of MAHA Health – a private Telehealth practice. She is a co-founding board member of Texans for Safe Access (TSA). She is an active Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP) physician. She is co-founder and medical director of The Hemp Works(.)™ – a natural medicine apothecary located in Houston, TX. She is an active public speaker on holistic & cannabinoid medicine, endocannabinoid sciences, and cannabis & autism, recently featured in a docu-series titled Weed 6. Dr. Oga is dedicated to bridging the gap between Western medicine and its ancestral history, through a curriculum that teaches her eclectic style of practice to the next generation of healthcare professionals.
