What does “full spectrum” mean? When referring to full-spectrum products, we are referencing those that contain all the therapeutic/beneficial compounds that are naturally produced by the cannabis (industrial hemp) plant. These compounds include cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. Inherently, full-spectrum products do contain trace amounts of THC – however, only in an amount of less than 0.3% per the legal regulations. All of these compounds work together to partake in the “entourage effect” and interact with our own body’s endocannabinoid system. Finally, flavonoids are natural compounds that are also involved in the entourage effect. Common flavonoids in the cannabis plant include cannaflavins, anthocyanin, and apigenin. While flavonoids are responsible for the plant’s presentation and color, studies have begun to examine possible anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting effects.
